The Music Publishing Company is the new publishing arm of Indian Ledge Records. Our goal is to work with our writers/artists to develop great songs and catalogs that will create lasting impressions among listeners everywhere. We will work to find avenues for all the copyrights on our roster. We reach out to the film, T.V. and commercial markets to obtain licenses for pertinent songs by our writers. MPC also works to obtain covers by other artists when feasible.
The Music Publishing Company is administered by one of the nation’s most respected independent publishers: Criterion Music. The Music Publishing Company (MPC) will work closely with Criterion Music in finding outlets for our music throughout the world. MPC also works hand in hand with Indian Ledge Records in cultivating exceptional regional talent and marketing catalogs for creative merit, industry recognition, and best practices in recording.
Heading up MPC is Bernie Walters formally with ATV Music (Beatles catalogue), MTM Music Group, Leon Russell’s publishing company, and Minneapolis based Mid-Co music group. Walter’s contacts throughout the music scene have helped him place songs with such artists as Joe Cocker, Kansas, Johnny VanZant, and many more. Walters also signed such great writers as Beth Nielsen Chapman who wrote songs for Faith Hill (“This Kiss” and ”Breathe”), and Willie Nelson (“If My World Didn’t Have You”). Bill Lloyd from the band Foster and Lloyd wrote songs for Sweet Hearts of the Rodeo and others. Mentor Williams wrote “Drift Away". Ron Miller wrote songs for Joe Cocker and Kansas. CMJ favorites Dessau have written many songs with Al Jourgensen of Ministry. Current publishing divisions are Fearless Beat Music (SESAC), and Moon Over Hemlock (BMI)
